Cape Breton NOW is being built as a simple, local way to share information. It is designed to be non-intrusive and does not rely on tracking, targeted advertising, or algorithmic feeds. What people see is based on what local groups choose to post and how residents choose to browse or filter it.

  • Make a direct contribution to help maintain and improve the shared calendar, directory, and maps.
  • Choose a local organization you value and sponsor or co-sponsor its presence on the site.
  • Let organizations you know about (teams, clubs, support groups, cultural groups, etc.) know that they can be listed.
  • Share the link and encourage other residents to sign up so that more local activity is visible in one place.

These steps help keep the project locally supported and straightforward, as an alternative to larger social media platforms with their own priorities and limitations.
